We are more than a company — we’re a family. Here are some frequently asked questions our customers ask.

After years of working in this profession, we became aware that many breakdown companies had lost touch with the people who make the company – the customers. Most major providers of domestic plans rise their prices without your permission within the first eighteen months. Most companies are run solely for profit. We are none of those. We feel it is our duty to provide the most seamless and friendly plan so you can focus on what really matters.

Our claims process is something we take great pride in. If you have any issue, we have a freephone claims number to call, and if we cannot fix it over the phone and it falls under your contractual jurisdiction then we will immediately arrange for a serviceman to attend your property that day. Its that simple.

The simple answer is no. Our plans are rolling or month by month. There is no cancellation fee if you decide to cancel unless major work has been partaken.

We won’t go down the avenue of slating other companies. All companies large or small have their strengths and faults. We feel that our strength is large national groups fault. We work for you, we take our job very seriously, and look to build a long and trusting relationship with you. We are always just a call away and with us you are not simply a name; you are a person. Our plans are like for like with most other large companies, our prices are cheaper on average than most leading providers, and our customer service and satisfaction are the be all and end all for all of us at UK Shield.

There is a temptation to ‘take the risk’ and hope you don’t encounter problems. We understand this. but few people are aware of the cost of a breakdown both emotional and financial. A full boiler breakdown can cost upwards of £2000 to resolve if not protected. Certain parts of home appliances cost in excess of £400 each. Can you imagine a week without hot water? a week without heating? this unfortunately is the predicament we see all too often when someone has no cover plan in place. We guarantee all parts and labour inclusive and same day call outs.

The work local engineers do is fantastic but they cannot offer the coverage we do. All our engineers are locally sourced to your particular area. Local engineers cannot subsidise the cost of parts, we can. Local engineers charge per callout, we offer unlimited callouts.
